This weekend, I played with the new kit The Way You Look by Sir Scrapalot Designs. I needed to work on my daughter's book but couldn't bring myself to do another pink girlie layout at the moment so this kit was the perfect inspiration.

We were on a camping/boating vacation trip with several friends from church/work when I captured our friend Bill snuggling with baby Alexis.

Published, Blogging, Template Challenge and Layout Share . . .

I have been thinking a lot about blogging recently. Reading (stalking) digiscrap blogs used to be a large portion of my daily scrap time (and not just to hunt for freebies, although that was part of it). I had several that I followed regularly and now I can't even seem to keep up with blog owners I have a personal connection with. I wonder if this is just another phase of the digiscrapping addiction or if, as the tweet I saw the other day which I never got around to clicking on the link for said, are personal digi scrap blogs on the way out?

Blogs have been on my mind the last week or so mostly because I was entertaining the thought of starting a new one. I am intrigued by the Project 365/52 idea but with a twist. Project 365 would be a little much for me because, well frankly, I already take way more photos than I know what to do with. Project 52 seems a little more manageable. But I really wasn't entirely thinking about it in terms of just taking a picture a week. My twist I came up with was that I wanted the P in P52 to stand for prayer, as in prayers for my children. In theory, I think it is a good idea and one I would love to execute; a weekly picture along with a related weekly written prayer of my thoughts, hopes, dreams, fears, concerns and so on about my children. In practice though, I already have three other blogs I haven't been all that committed to keeping up with lately and day 8 of the new year is almost over and I don't have week one done yet or the blog setup.

What do you look for in a blog: Freebies (don't be afraid to admit it if that is the case, I have been there too)?, Layout Inspiration?, CT News Sales and New Releases?; or are you looking for something more? What direction would you like to see my blog take? Would you be interested in reading my prayers for my children if I put them on this blog or would you prefer this blog to stay just about digiscrapping?

Scrap the Guys Contest

I think my brain has been on vacation lately. I can't seem to get motivated to get much done. I did manage to participate in the Scrap The Guys Contest at Hummie's World. It was a seven week contest to encourage you to scrap layouts about guys that would appeal to guys with the winner being announced today (in honor of Father's Day). I haven't got much else scrapped lately though. Here are my layouts for the contest:

Week 1: Scrap a guy and use quote applicable to a guy; I used the Peanuts and Crackerjacks Collab.


Week 2: Scrap a favorite smell. I used Freshly Baked by Creations by Rachael.


Week 3: Scrap a guy and use the provided frame. I used SYTYCD Week 1 Freebie by Flergs


Week 4: Scrap a guy and an animal theme. I used Spirit of the Wolf by SKrapper Digitals.


Week 5: Scrap a guy and used the provide paint chip. I used Troublemaker and the SYTYCD freebie both by Flergs.


Week 6: The layout had to include a guy and something to do with transportation. I used Background Paper - From Hit the Road by Wild Dandelions; Paper Strip and Flag from Tire Treads by Candleworks; Photo mask by Heather Manning.


Week 7 - Scrap a guy and his hair. I used Flerg's Troublemaker for this one.


What a fun contest. Thanks, Hummie! Oh, I almost forgot to mention - look at all the cool stuff I won in the contest.

Bad, bad blogger . . .and MSS Blog Train

Sorry I have been MIA. It has been a crazy few weeks and I just got back in town from my Grandma's funeral and my son's birthday party. Unfortunately, I didn't have much of an Internet connection where I was.

I am happy that my template challenge at Pretty Scrappy is going well. I was a little nervous about it. You can check out all the great layouts from my template here. You can still get the template here too until the end of the month.

Plus, I had so much fun making that template, I decided to make a template for the posting bonus for my themed quote challenge over at Hummie's World for May.


Remember the RAK I got from Donna Duncombe? I used the layout I did with it to base my template on.

Layouts and Freshly Baked and Moonbeam Quickpage Freebies

Miss me? I finally got my replacement laptop from the manufacturer earlier this week so hopefully you will be hearing more from me. So much to share, where to should I start?

The collab at Pretty Scrappy is so adorable this month! Every month they just seem to get better and better.

I loved this one so much I had to play with it while I was waiting for a few details of my Quickpage Team assignment to be worked out. I redid one of the pages from baby girl's book which I wasn't all that crazy about the first time around. Still not loving this picture of me but I do love the layout a whole lot more than I did before.

My assignment this month was hybrid! I wasn't too sure about it at first since I hadn't done this type of album before, but with a little encouragement from a few friends, I am pleased with how it came out. Here is a preview of the two pages I did for the 28-page Maya Road Hybrid Album that is free with a $15 purchase this month at Pretty Scrappy.

When I saw this kit from Creations by Rachael B it was calling my name. I tried to resist since I am supposed to be working on my baby books but I REALLY wanted to play with it. Isn't it a fun kit?

I did another not-for-the-baby-books layout using this kit but aren't the kids so cute in the snow? How could I resist? Actually, at the moment I am caught up on my baby book scrapping goals until the end of February so I had a little time to play.

I had so much fun with Miss Chris's scraplift I decided to try the one this month to scraplift the very talented Annette. Here is what I came up with.

While we are on the topic of scraplifting, guess who was chosen for the Scraplift Challenge at My Scrap Shop this month? I was so surprised to see that my layout I showed you last time with the poem from Thena Smith was selected to scraplift. How cool is that? So I decided in honor of this, I would scraplift myself. :D Here is what I came up with. I did modify it a little though (but that is the great thing about a scraplift) because I was playing with the use of "white space" in a layout for a challenge at Hummie's World.
