Scrap 'n Treat

Derek over at Derek M Design has put together a little Trick or Treat blog train of goodies for you for Halloween. Here's a little pumpkin frame I made for your scrap 'n treat collection.

Just "knock" on the door to get your treat.

(Link has now been moved to a site other than 4Shared.)

4Shared doesn't show the preview very well so here is what your treat actually looks like. :)

You can pick up more treats at . . .

I was sad to see that Derek has announced he will be moving away from scrapbook designing as he had some great unique items. Be sure to stop by his blog and grab all his free goodies before he takes them down for good.

My Scrap Shop Challenges

Looking to be inspired and get some layouts done? (Oh, yeah, and win some prizes too???) You will definitely want to check out the new challenges over at My Scrap Shop then. They have revamped the challenge area of the forum, added some new team members to inspire you and are offering some awesome prizes for getting those layouts done. They are kicking off the challenges this week with a special one week run of the challenges. But don't fret because it is already midweek, I got all of mine done in three hours so there is still lots of time for you to get yours done too. Did I mention there are prizes?

The first challenge I attempted was the template challenge. I have done a few template challenges since my first one and they are slowly growing on me. This was an awesome template to work with.
Here's my take on the template.

And what better posting bonus for a template challenge than more templates? They are even CU!
Next was the Shapes 'N More challenge. I really enjoy shape challenges actually and have been doing the one at DSO for the last several months. The MSS one had a little twist though, you had to use two shapes, a leaf and a circle. Can you find my circle in this? Yep, it counts, I checked. :)

The posting bonus for the Shapes 'N More challenge is this:

If you have seen my Nature layouts, you know I love a good quote so I couldn't pass up on the quote challenge - even it was a topic I don't usually scrap - pets!
The posting bonus for the quote challenges is the matching alpha for those cute elements above.
The last of the new challenges up is the desktop challenge. I have never scrapped a desktop before but I figured I had the elements and the alpha coming so I wanted the papers too! The only requirement was that you had to use the calendar (which is provided) on your desktop. Not my greatest work, I think, but I am proudly displaying it on my desktop now.

And the posting bonus:
Inspired yet? Great - now go scrap!
PS - I used My Scrap Shop products for all of my layouts but that is not a requirement to participate in the challenges. However, they are some great sales going on right now and you can get kits for as little as 50 cents!

October Quickpage

Miss me? I was out of town last weekend for a costume party wedding. It was so much fun! But I had no Internet access. Then last week my hard disk started freaking out so I have been dealing with getting that fixed. I did work on a few pages for you before it started giving me problems.

The first is from October by Julie. It is. This layout was another one from my Nature book. I certainly don't think I did the kit justice though. Aren't the colors in it so perfect for those fall layouts?

Here's my layout.

Now while I was having all my computer woes, Julie was busy designing away and already has another kit out. If you like October, you will want to be sure to check out October Night, which coordinates with it.

Be sure to check out Julie's blog too for the October sampler.

Abigail Quickpage Freebie

I was working on this layout last night and just could not figure out what to do with it. It was photos of my husband and baby girl. There really weren't any particular reason for taking the photos - yea, I have lots of those, the curse of a scrapper, I think. Plus the background on the photos were just horrendous. So I was stuck on what to do for the layout. Suddenly, I hear my husband on the laptop playing around on his My Space page and I noticed his background music. Suddenly, I have the perfect quote for my layout.
Obviously, I can't turn that one into a quickpage for you, but I did turn another one I made from the Abigail kit into one for you.

Link Expired. Be sure to check out the rest of the kit too over at Plain Digital Wrapper.

Download link for site other than 4Shared is here.

Kevin Jr. - Not just a boyish kit - quickpage

You would think with a name like Kevin Jr., FishinmomDesign's kit would be just for boy layouts.

Now don't get me wrong, it does have some great boy elements in it. I just love those fish and they were perfect to scrap my son's first time fishing. But since I am working on baby books mostly, the first place I go to look for pictures to scrap is in those books. So if I can take a boyish kit and use it in baby girls book too like I was able to do with this one, I am a super happy camper. I used this page for my baby girl layout, but I was thinking the page could be used for other Love of Your Life photos too so I made the it into a quickpage for you. Link Expired.

I posted the page I did with it a few days ago if you want to see the quickpage in use. Speaking of seeing my quickpages in use, I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to see how you use my quickpages. If you have been able to use one, please let me know. (You can find my e-mail in my TOU or leave a comment with link on my blog.)

New Layouts

Digi Store Directory

I got tired of not being able to remember where to find digistores when I was looking for something particular so I decided to make a list. I have been creating the list on my new to digi blog for a while now so if you have the same problem I do, feel free to check it out. (Or if you are just a shopaholic . . .) :) It is on the right hand column. Just scroll down a little. If you know of a store I missed (and I am sure I probably missed a bunch), please feel free to message me and let me know so I can add it.

After a very long week, I decided to take a day off and just scrap.

For my CT assignment this month at My Scrap Shop I got to checkout Spirit of the Wolf by SKrapper Digitals. Here is what I came up with for this very unique kit.

I also finally got a chance to play with the re-release of Kevin Jr., by FishinmomDesigns that I downloaded a couple weeks ago and hadn't had a chance to do anything with yet.

Julie has a new kit too, Abigail, which I did a layout for last weekend but have been out of town so I hadn't had time to post it. I am so in love with the papers in this kit. They are just amazing!
