I'm hosting a challenge!

Link Expired.

I am so excited to be hosting a May Quote Challenge over at Hummie's World.

Want the quickpage below? All you have to do is submit a layout for the quote challenge during the month of May and I will send it to you. The quote I picked for this month in honor of Mother's Day is . . .

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new. ~Rajneesh

Use either the quote above or the shorter version of it (The moment a child is born, the mother is also born.) in a layout, show off your layout in the gallery using the Quote tag and tell me about it in the quote challenge thread and I will send you the quickpage made using Hummie's Heritage Kit.

I will be hosting quote challenges there the next few months with quickpage prizes for each from Hummie's Heritage Kit so come by every month and play along and you will end up with a coordinated quickpage album.

Some new layouts

Decided since my birthday was coming up I was going to veg this weekend and try to get caught up on some scrapping (sorry hubby . . .).

Kimberly just put a new gorgeous kit in her store and My Scrap Shop challenged us to mix two kits together. That was definitely a challenge for me because I like to challenge myself to see if I can only make pages using what the designers think go well together in a kit so I am in the habit of only using one kit.

Here is FishinmomDesigns new kit, Spring Sunset:

Here are my layouts:

For MSS I picked Heather by MoveFearlessly Designs to coordinate with her Serenade Kit I worked with last month.

Have a great weekend!

Colors of Spring - Photo Paper Pack Freebie

Inspired by a challenge by Boo's Blossoms, I have taken an interest the last few weeks in capturing some of the beautiful flowers of springtime. So I have been running around searching for pictures that capture the beauty of spring and so far have actually allowed myself the time to take photos at an outlet center in Hagerstown, MD while returning from a business trip, at Federal Hill in Baltimore on my lunch break and this week while in Atlanta for business I made a trip to the Botanical Gardens.

Now that I have all of these photos, I figured I might as well do something with them. I put together a little photo paper pack to share with you since I had a few comments that some of you really liked photo papers on one of the quick page posts I made. These are available in both 12x12 and 11x8.5.

Sorry, the link has expired.I would love to see how you use them! Have a great weekend.

Made a few more quickpages for you from the challenge kits over at Hummie's World. Hummie (with the assistance of Sarah - thanks Sarah!), has been kind enough to list all of the links in the first post now so you don't have to scroll through the posts to find the downloads. Of course, then you will miss out on seeing all the fun we are having over there if you do that.

You can find the links for all of these and the awesome kits they were made from by clicking here.

News from My Little Corner of the Blog World

I have been so busy making gifts for you, I hadn't gotten around to sharing some news with you.

First - FishinmomDesigns now has her own store! You can now find her designs exclusively at http://www.fishinmomdesigns.com/. Plus all of her kits now include a Scrap-4-Hire (S4H/S40) license. All of her previous kits are there plus she has a new kit in the store called Lilac Papillion. The butterflies in this are just stunning!

Second - I got picked for another CT. This one is a site CT - so I get to hang out with all the wonderful designers over at My Scrap Shop. I have been following the venture into the design world of several of the designers who are there for a while so I am thrilled (and still a little shocked) to have been selected for their new site CT.

My first kit I got to work with was from MoveFearlessly Designs and is called Serenade.

Here is the tribute double-page layout of my Great Aunt I made last week following her funeral. This kit was just perfect for a heritage layout.

Third - For those that requested the information about getting started with digital scrapbooking that I had prepared for my class, you can now find that here:

http://www.newtodigiguide.blogspot.com/

I know the name is a little long but the one I wanted was taken already. The site is still pretty basic as far as deign but all the info is there - including the price comparison I did for printing options. There is a Table of Contents on the right side to help you get around.

Have a great rest of the week.

I made a kit! My First Kit Freebie.

OK - I finally gave in and made an actual kit to share. I kept telling myself I wouldn't do it - I already spend more time scrapping than I probably should. But everyone seemed to be having a great time learning how to create kits over at Hummie's World, I thought I would see what I could come up with. Technically, it is my second that I have made. I couldn't find one to scrap my son's Little Einsteins's birthday party last year so I made all the stuff for that with some help from Disney Clips Online.

So here you go . . . My (sort of) very first (that I am crazy enough to share) kit . . . Please let me know what you think and if there are any problems with it (really, I want to know what you think or if I did something wrong . . .)

Everything's Coming Up Tulips:

You can download it here. It also includes the pieces to build your own tulips if you would like.
